West Ham United captain Kurt Zouma is on the verge of completing a move to Dubai-based Shabab Al-Ahli, with a deal expected to be finalized in the coming days. The 29-year-old Frenchman, who has one year remaining on his contract at the London Stadium, has been in discussions with the UAE club as West Ham looks to reshape its squad ahead of the new season.
Zouma joined West Ham from Chelsea in 2021 for £29m and has since made over 100 appearances for the Hammers, playing a key role in their Europa Conference League triumph in 2023. He was appointed club captain last season following Declan Rice’s transfer to Arsenal.
This potential move comes after West Ham’s significant summer spending spree, which has seen the club invest over £100m under new manager Julen Lopetegui. Recent signings include Max Kilman, Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Füllkrug, Luis Guilherme, and Guido Rodríguez.
Zouma’s departure would mark the end of an impactful yet controversial stint at West Ham, where he was also sentenced to community service in 2022 after pleading guilty to animal cruelty.
